Prairie Wolf (Woodcut)

$15.00

“Prairie Wolf” Woodcut

Another quick study and tribute piece to the prairie wolves in the area, the coyotes. These beautiful animals are often seen as vermin by many, disgusted at the sight of them in urban areas. Remember though, their natural habitats have been heavily developed and they are forced to coexist with us.

Like the vulture from my last print, these animals have their place on the ecosystem. They’re not intruding. We are.

Their name derives from the Mesoamerican indigenous language, Nahuatl, as Koyotl. They are also referred to as a “song dog”

I’ll be working on plenty more of these print studies of the native animals in the area.

Print measures 5” in. x 7.5” inches. Printed on Nepalese Lokta paper.
